International Festival of Visual Arts – Arterija

OLEG_engleski

The Festival is dedicated to the theme of the bicycle and therefore the title is Let there be…bicycle; to paraphrase the old testament phrase And there was light.
The title is an ambiguous play on words which in harmony with the ‘bicycle’ introduces concepts of ‘recycling’, ‘cycling’, ‘green’, ‘running’, or ‘turned’.
The Festival’s idea of the bicycle will be expressed through modern and contemporary art practices, literature, animated or featured film, workshops, toys and the metaphor of historical and scientific facts. Numerous artistic interventions, exhibitions and presentations will be presented at the visible and hidden places of the old town of Novigrad and in the Museum Lapidarium (marking the 200 year anniversary of the invention of the bicycle).
