Dora Ramljak: The Decay of Time

Somewhere in the ocean, traces of atmospheric nuclear testing are still circulating.
In the exhibition The Decay of Time, the artist explores how traces of radioisotopes move through water and how they can speak to us about time. Starting from laboratory research, oceanographic data, the northern Adriatic, and her own experience of being in the water, the artist reflects on matter that preserves traces, on consequences that become visible only later, and on time that we do not always experience as a straight, clear line.
Dora Ramljak is the recipient of the Galerija Rigo Award, granted as part of the programme Zlatna lubenica 10.0 – Walks through Liminal Spaces, a programme for young artists organized by the Metamedij Association from Pula.
Dora Ramljak is a transdisciplinary designer and artist whose practice develops at the intersection of ecology, science, politics, and social practice. Through research, fieldwork, experimentation, and interdisciplinary collaboration, she explores ecological systems, material processes, and relationships between the human and more-than-human world. She works through film, writing, installation, and material experimentation, connecting scientific methods with embodied and sensory forms of research. Her work has been presented internationally through exhibitions, screenings, and research contexts across Europe.
